1) In editorial design there are two key components/concepts which is grid system and having a consistent element. Grid system help set up the structure for your page, such as framing and aligning it. This helps you use the amount of space needed within the limits. In consistency elements, is also just as significant as grid system by helping you out in brochure and other elemental tool that can be used by being able to catch the readers attention through hierarchy and avoid any sort of confusion that could be presented within the design. Setting up such designs in your work, as a graphic designer, can can help you get attention from video and seek interest to the type of  grid or alignment with typography and attaching any sort of visual illustrations on a single page. One of the most reliable elements that is used upon editorial design is time where strategy and communication is required through your design. For example, having a photo that is full-bleeded with ink and colors, following with such heavy text sections can create a sense of contempt allegiance to the design that may interest audience or a certain group of audience. However, the quality of designing for your project can be determined based on the type of Content that should be needed was shouldn’t be needed in your editorial design and the chronological order that you planned for different pages in your design. Ultimately editorial design is purposeful meaning with value behind one’s work by presenting such structures strategies and a form of consistency based on the hard work and time that is needed for the contents purposes. The tools, and the choices that you make as a graphic designer can help determine how dedicated your work can really be through the critics from your audience.

Design #1: Otl Aicher's Isny by dn&co

Otel Aicher's design by dn&co is a well thought dedicated work based off the German Designer. With the sense of responsibility and such devotion, dn&co were take to take responsibility upon Aicher's work and were able to elaborate by modernizing it. Where the Univers typeface was used to support Isny's branding to set a tribute Aicher's Munich Olympic project. The structure of the book helps create a reference to Aicher's poster which uses a uncoated paper that creates a frame of the original artifacts to mimicked it's material. Where coated stock is used a narrative purpose to promote a visual details of the design process. In which Aicher's strong gridded techniques is used as to represent difficulty in the work process with a very well known knowledge of the content itself. This demonstrates the team's ability by underscoring the importance of the reliability of narrating throughout the story. In creating this book, the design team helped promote the work that Aichers have done over his paintings and writing. This shows that using frames and tools helped reflect and credit the original peice made by the person show it's dedication without plagiarizing it into claiming it's own design. This way, combining the old and new help create a unique design between the old arts and modern arts like Aicher's.

Design #2: This is Me, Full Stop by Here Design

This design is rather a chidlish side in using punctuation mark as a playful tool in a illustrated book. It is a unusual design that is used through illustration and design that creates a excitement when the audience read it. It's white space is used as an element to create a sense of freedom that offers a challenge in encountering other elemental design as a whole. Besides this, there are many typeface that are shown throughout the book to show a unordinary typefaces that tend to be forgotten as more typefaces seem to progress. Where high production values is often required such as white foil lettering on black substrate with a decent rimming in which makes the book very satisfying. In which sets a visual attractiveness to the book. Although the book has it's own beauty behind it, but it also have the science behind it as well. By highlighting the designers intention in making this design in order to center the reader's experience in reading it by finding a form of creativity within the book. This is Me, Full Stop by Here Design  doesn't only show off as a visual eye catching piece but it also show as philosophical design throughout the reading.

Design #3: Circular 19 by Pentagram

Circular 19 was created by Pentagram to celebrate the Typographic 40th anniversary. This design is unique due to it's ability to visually impress through the use of typography. Where Circular 19 stands up the most of other ads due to it's devotion to dedicating their design towards typography. In which every part of it's design sets up a typographic theme, color, tone and style. The design shows various kinds of style in promoting uniqueness as well as opposing the idea of boredom or an usual vague styles in designs. This design helps create a connection between the size of an element and other textual elements to demostrate how important typography really is in an editorial design. However, Circular 19 goes way more than visualization by showing the enthusiam of the work that the designer have promoted in Circular 19 design. It promotes a theme through point of views, mystery, and expanding into new experience through the audience's eye. This theme set up a philosophical principle due to the creative mindset that it tend to create. Circular 19 isn't just a design, it's an experience and a storytelling that enlightens the audience as they visualize in their own view and thoughts that continues change and spread it's innovative theme.

3)  One of my favorite website that I see editorial design being used is the Apple website. Apple website is a very simple design that reflects the company's purpose and value which is providing a simplicity for their consumer. They use white space, high quality videos and image to make it simple but yet make it unique through it's simplicity. Their strategy of using designs help set up a well branding through their products. This helped them present best images by presenting clean text in their advertisement and other platform to show the company's motive. Which helps them go beyond into details ahead of it's time through their highly advanced technologies in their iPhone, IPad, watches, etc. Their design worldwide helps consumer experience great things through their design and the environment that Apple provides. Therefore, Apple's aesthetic design represents a recommending experience to thrive both digitally and physically of their brand.
